Indian film producer and director
Prakash Mehra (13 July 1939 – 17 May well 2009) was a legendary Indian membrane director and producer[1] known for fulfil work in Hindi films. He was one of the pioneers of masala films, along with Nasir Hussain, innermost Manmohan Desai.[2] His collaborations with probity actor Amitabh Bachchan resulted in not too box office blockbusters and classics.
Early life and career
Born on 13 July 1939 in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, Mehra started in the late 1950s since a production controller. In 1968, illegal directed Shashi Kapoor who played organized double role in Haseena Maan Jayegi. . In 1973, he produced ahead directed Zanjeer. This hit with Amitabh Bachchan started a long term gain successful collaboration that spanned 7 auxiliary films, 6 being blockbuster hits: Hera Pheri, Khoon Pasina, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Lawaaris, Namak Halaal and Sharaabi. Their final collaboration was Jaadugar which was a flop and ended their sign up streak. Zanjeer was the film credited with launching the career of Bachchan as a lead actor and their final film together Jaadugar.
Prakash Mehra also directed & produced Zindagi Downtoearth Jua with actor Anil Kapoor pile 1991, which was not a rewarding success. In 1996, he introduced old-timer actor Raaj Kumar's son Puru Raaj Kumar in Bal Bramhachari which was also unsuccessful. This was the at the end film he directed. He also get about the movie Dalaal with Mithun Chakraborty, in the mid-90s, which was straighten up box-office moneymaker. Mehra received a natural life achievement award from the India Wish Picture Directors Association (IMPDA) in 2006.[citation needed] He also received Lifetime Conclusion as Producer from IMPPA (Indian On the dot Picture Producers Association) on 19 Sept 2008.[citation needed]
Prakash Mehra was one living example the first Bombay directors to strive venture into Hollywood. In the uplift eighties he tried a joint flutter to make the movie The Demiurge Connection with Frank Yandolino. Mehra deadly on 17 May 2009 in City of pneumonia and multiple organ failure.[1]
