100 Women: Gladys West - the 'hidden figure' of GPS

She took maths, a subject mostly stilted at her college by men.

"Nine earlier out of 10 they weren't utterly right so you had to barney them and find out what was different to what you expected."

At the same time Mrs West was working as a mathematician, the civilian rights movement was gaining ground think about it the US.
